- Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame added

We've added a new game to our archive, called Prince of
Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame. It's a very good game;
excellent graphics and best of all, good gameplay. The game
was originally made by Brøderbund Software in 1993. Now,
the company 'Redorb' is reselling this classic (for only
$19,95!). Then you get the first episode of 'Prince of
Persia' and the second edition, where I am telling about.
The following story will tell you something about this game.

Title: Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame
 Author: Brøderbund Software
 File size: 1,10 MB
 Year: 1993
 Version: Playable demo

When you stowed away on a ship bound for Persia, little
did you dream that you would fall in love with the
sultan’s beautiful young daughter. Still less could you
have imagined that you, and unknown adventurer with
neither wealth or title, would win her hand and be
hailed by an adoring population as the new prince of
 Persia.

In fact, the sultan had counted on marrying his daughter,
if not to a king, then at least to a prince whose wealth
and stature would favorably complement his own. The
thought of giving her up to someone such as yourself upset
the sultan so much that he nearly ordered your head cut
 off on the spot.

Only the princess’ quick intervention saved your life. And
only by means of the most eloquent pleading (backed by
copious tears) was she able to persuade her father to
grant your request. So it was that Persia gained a new
 prince.

Until, one morning, you entered the throne room and found
your place at the princess’ side already taken by someone
who bore a disturbing resemblance to you. Worse, even the
 princess didn’t recognize you.

At a word from the "Prince," the sultan’s guards laid hold
of you. This was no time to argue. You broke free and
leaped through the stained-glass window on the rooftop of
the palace. With every guard in Persia after you, you
barely escaped with your life by jumping onto a merchant
 ship.

And so you returned to your humble beginnings, a fugitive
once again, a stowaway on a ship bound for a foreign land.
As the wind carried you away from Persia, even further
away from the princess and the happiness that was all too
briefly yours, you vowed that from that moment on you
would live only to find your way back. You didn’t know
who your enemy was, nor how you would defeat him but
between you and the solution to this mystery lay your
 greatest adventure yet.

With shipwrecks, mysterious caverns, deadly skeletons, and
magic carpet rides, your days were filled with adventure,
but your nights were plagued by visions of a dying
princess. It seemed that Jaffar had survived his last
encounter with your deadly blade and with the help of
powerful magic, was pretending to be you. You had to return
as quickly as possible to save the princess and put an end
to the grand vizier’s tyranny once and for all.

That sounds great, isn't it? And do you know that Redorb is
working at 'Prince of Persia 3D'? They are working at the
game for a few years now, so it could not be bad! You could
take a look at http://www.pop3d.com/ if you like.
